How do we get here?
(Dare I say it?) Broke!
Everyone’s story is different, but the result is the same.
We want more life in our life.
So we go for more. We strive for more. More education, more promotion, more money. More house, more car, more stuff.
And one day we wake up and realize that no matter how hard we cling to our money and our stuff… it doesn’t hug us back.
What we want, is more love, more joy, more freedom, more purpose.
So how do we go about obtaining it?
This is my question… and if I’m not mistaken, I’m not the only one asking it.
This journey is about simplifying… about experiencing more with less. It’s about rediscovering myself by examining beliefs and thoughts that create undesirable emotional reactions. It’s about focus, peace, and most of all… joy.
Happiness is not something you can create or buy or chase. It’s not something to be obtained. Happiness is simply a choice. It’s a choice to stop listening to your own thoughts and beliefs (which were most likely downloaded from someone else) that keep you from experiencing it, and no longer resisting joy.
We suffer to the degree that we resist joy.
Therefore, don’t seek for joy, because it is in the seeking of it that we shall never find it, for we must first acknowledge that we do not currently have it, and acknowledging the lack gives substance to the lack itself, and what we give our attention to, and give substance to, grows.
Simply accept that joy is all there is, and allow it to be.
I don’t have the answers for you. I only have the answers for myself, but I do feel compelled to share what I am discovering just on the off-chance it might inspire someone else to discover their own joy.
What I’m most interested in knowing… is what you’re doing to allow more joy in your life.
Have you found anything that might help me as well?

P.S. Happy Mother’s Day… we’ve all got one!
